Frequently Asked Questions
1How do I download music?
As soon as you have registered an account with us you can purchase and download our music as you see fit!
2What does Royalty Free music mean?
The term "royalty free music" is old, and until recently it has implied one thing: that there are no mechanical/synchronization costs associated with the music. BeatGain Sound's definition of royalty free goes further. Not only is the music free from mechanical/synchronization costs, it is also free from public performance costs. In addition the BeatGain sound music is both legally and financially cleared for all platforms worldwide. In other words you are always free to use the musical content on all platforms available wherever you are without any further costs or legal negotiations. We call this all rights included.
3How am I allowed to use the music I license from BeatGain?
We offer 3 types of basic licenses: • Standard license • Extended license • Premium license
4Is BeatGain’s music registered with any Public Rights Performance societies?
No, we are not members of any collecting society. This means that no can collect any public performance fees from you for using our music, which is the case with many other libraries.
5Are there restrictions on how I use music obtained from BeatGain?
Yes. The license permits usage of the music in a personal or professional context for yourself, your clients or your employer. BeatGain music may not be sold by itself, transferred, bartered, traded, shared, leased, or given away to any other party and the license may not be subleased to a third party. Our music cannot be resold except to the extent that is embedded in your own work as part of a finished end product.
6Can I purchase music from your site, sing my song or play guitar over it and distribute my album?
No, you cannot. This is not allowed. We are a production music library. Our music is available to license for synchronization in media productions (websites, videos, DVDs, TV broadcasts, films, games, etc.) as background music. You cannot sing over the music track or add an instrument and market the results as your own music or as your song, even if the original track has been transformed or edited or if you add other instruments or vocals to the music. This is called a "Derivative Work" and is not allowed. BeatGain always owns the copyright of the music composition and recording. You are allowed to record your voice and add the music as background for an audiobook, storytelling, hypnotherapy, guided meditation, self-help programs or any kind of narration. The difference is that the music is used as background for a product that is not marketed as a "song" or a musical product. The purpose of the music is not altered in any way and the copyright of the music remains clearly and entirely in the hands of the composer and the publisher. Please note that if you distribute or sell more than 1,000 copies of your media production you will need a Mass Duplication license.
7Can I edit, modify or transform the music?
You can adapt the music for your project by editing the length or changing the sound. However you can not make a song, a re-mix or produce your own music with ours.
8Does the music I buy belong to me?
No. You do not actually own the music. The copyright to the music remains the property of BeatGain. Purchasing a license only allows you to use the music for your projects and purposes in accordance with the license agreement.
9Will the voiceover still be present after I purchase a license?
